Heartbroken after losing my wife to cancer, and with a house absolutely full of possessions Willmatt Hill was recommended, and I cannot give them enough praise. They know current tastes have changed, they know the market, and they set up the sale in an incredibly organized way, from piano and dining room set to the tiniest of ornaments, running the sale with professionalism and seriously caring about my feelings and my financial recovery. It went so smoothly and painlessly for me. Then, what could not be sold was donated to a legitimate tax deductible charity for a huge tax deduction. Theresa and her Team at Willmatt Hill are true professionals! From our first meeting through the final clean up, every detail was managed well.
Theresa communicates often throughout the process of a sale. Her team was prompt and efficient. I was amazed at the teamwork!
Marketing of the sale was beautifully done and I believe helped bring the large number of shoppers we had over two days. Many of our neighbors and friends came to shop and commented on how clean and organized everything was.

Let me be clear, the decision to have an estate sale and preparing yourself to liquidate years of collecting your prized possessions is not an easy one. After you have crossed the threshold of reality that your prized possessions and family heirlooms are worthless to your children, nieces and nephews, then it’s time to have an estate sale. If you want it done right, I can’t recommend Willmatt Hill Estate Sales enough and I’m glad I chose them to conduct my estate sale. Alex and Theresa ran a first class, tight ship and were very professional. They are good at what they do, have an impeccable reputation and are established enough to be choosy in who they invest their time in setting up their sales. They will explain this upfront, so if they won’t agree to do your sale don’t be offended if they believe that you are not a good fit for them. There are plenty of other companies out there who might be a better fit for you. Once they have agreed to do your sale, they may require you to pay for extra labor to set up your multitude of objects. The setting up process is time and labor intensive and they have a friendly, hardworking team that will get it done right. Do yourself a big favor, before you call anyone to do your estate sale, educate yourself on the real value of all of your unwanted stuff. In other words, grandma’s china set and hand cut crystal are worthless. If you want the right people to conduct your estate sale, call Willmatt Hill.
Top notch company with expert connections for jewelry, art, autos, and a massive mailing list of buyers. I am very pleased with Willmatt Hill and their entire team. My dad is in his 80s and moving into a much smaller house. He needed to sell as many of the valuables in his house as possible – antiques, jewelry, tools, artwork, etc. Alex came and surveyed the contents and determined that we met the minimum requirements for their sales. He thoroughly explained the contract, told us where our biggest values were, and that all the jewelry would be photographed, catalogued, and taken to an appraiser. He was responsive by phone when we had follow up questions. My dad was very anxious about the process, so when Teresa came to collect the jewelry she talked him through how to best prepare each area of the house for her crew’s arrival. The week of the sale, a team of very kind, professional, hard-working people came and moved methodically through the house, organizing and pricing every item. They put up clear signage for items and areas that were off limits to the public. Teresa was very responsive via text and sent us updates at the end of each sale day. We stayed away from the house during the sale, but would return in the evening and feel relieved to see the rooms empty out. We were also impressed at how clean they kept things considering the number of visitors coming through. They require all visitors to remove their shoes; they only allow a certain number of people into the house at a time; and they keep all high-value items in display cases attended by a staff member all day. They also have a huge mailing list, 15,000 people, who get preview photos of the most attractive items. Most importantly, throughout the entire process, we felt like we were in good hands. We opted to use their post-sale clean out service, which was very affordable and amazingly thorough. Teresa even arranged for the new home owners to take items they loved when they were shown the house. The only things left were the items my dad is taking to his new home, and a nice chunk of money to make the transition that much smoother.
Alex and Theresa were wonderful to work with as they set up my mom’s estate sale in South Minneapolis. From the initial assessment to the Post Sale debrief, their expertise and advice culminated in a sale that was tremendously successful and attracted around 1,200 people. Willmatt Hill handled our sale in Minnetonka as we were selling our house. They did a great job. Alex and Theresa were wonderful to work with and were very professional. After living in our home for over 30 years, moving and downsizing seemed overwhelming. That all changed after meeting Alex and Theresa. They were wonderful to work with! The two of them are great sales people- they love selling and are extremely knowledgeable about the estate market. They are confident and upbeat and were right on the money in predicting the successful result of our sale.
